Man seriously injured after crash with work bus on US 701 in Johnston County

A work bus crashed on Hwy 701 South in Johnston County on Monday morning. 

An SUV was traveling north towards the bus and tried to pass a vehicle in front of it. 

The SUV hit the bus head-on, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. 

The bus is registered to Orea and Son's Harvesting and Hauling in Mount Olive.

It was carrying 29 people, including the driver, and no one was injured.

The driver of the SUV sustained serious injuries and was transported to WakeMed. 

The State Highway Patrol said he was wearing his seatbelt, and he was not speeding or impaired.
