False-alarm bomb threat on Main Street Clayton Saturday morning

Clayton police responded to a bomb threat call in downtown Clayton Saturday morning.

When they arrived at the 300 block of E. Main Street around 8 a.m., officers cleared the area.

Police swept the area with explosive-detection-trained K9s, and they said they found no bomb or threat.

Investigators believe this was a swatting call. They said they think the caller was using a live-feed camera to describe the area and monitor the police response, according to Clayton police.

Everyone was allowed back in the area around 9:45 a.m.
