'Very special' delivery: Millbrook High staff help deliver security officer's baby at school

Millbrook Magnet High School had a very unexpected and special delivery on Thursday morning after the school's security officer went into labor.

In a letter to staff and families, Principal Monica Sawyer said school staff stepped in to help deliver a beautiful baby girl on campus that morning. EMS crews arrived to ensure a safe delivery.

"We’re happy to share that both mom and baby are doing well," Sawyer said. "I know you’ll join me in congratulating the family and welcoming our newest (and tiniest!) Wildcat. We’ve already ordered some baby spirit wear so mom and daughter will be ready to cheer on the Wildcats together!"

The school has set up a page to help support the newborn and family at this link.

"What a special day to be a Wildcat!" Sawyer said.
