Buc-ee’s eyeing new location on I-95 in Nash County

NASH COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Rocky Mount officials say that a letter making the rounds on social media about a potential new Buc-ee’s location is genuine.

Mayor Pro-Tem Jabaris Walker confirmed that he received the letter from Buc-ee’s.

The letter says the company is excited to be under contract to purchase 34 acres in the southwestern quadrant of Highway 4 (Halifax Road), near the Interstate 95 interchange. That’s the Gold Rock area in northern Rocky Mount.

“We are working with the City of Rocky Mount to design an appealing and well-thought-out plan and are excited to share our vision with you,” the letter reads.

Bucc-ee’s hopes to be heard by the city planning board for a rezoning request on November 10th.

A neighborhood informational meeting will be held October 22nd at 6 p.m. at the Frederick E. Turnage Municipal Building at 331 S. Franklin Street in Rocky Mount.

Bucc-ee’s is a chain of mega-sized travel centers/convenience stores.
