Newly unsealed indictments accuse nine people in the Eastern District of North Carolina of lying about their citizenship and voting in the 2024 Presidential election.

All 10 will appear in federal court today. Nine of them, including Lionel Paul, Karl Fout, Ludagardys Matthews, Edduard Sosa, James Herrmann, Mervin Bogle, Robert  Corbett, Lawton McKenzie and Romana Abreu-Exia, will make their first appearance Thursday morning in the Raleigh Federal Courthouse.  Bogle is only accused of lying about his citizenship in order to vote, but was not charged with voting in the 2024 election.

Gijna MacDonald will appear in federal court in New Bern.

According to federal records, those ten were indicted last week, but the records were just unsealed by Magistrate Judge Brian Meyers. The suspects were added to Thursday's court calendar late Wednesday afternoon.

Their court appearances take place on the same day early voting begins in North Carolina.

U.S. Attorney Ellis Boyle has a press conference scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday to discuss "recent actions," according to a release.
