Man dies in Vance County shooting, SBI assisting investigation

A man died after being shot in Vance County early Sunday morning. 

Thelonis Devin Perry, 38, of Henderson, died from a gunshot wound after deputies responded to a shooting around 2:30 a.m., according to the Vance County Sheriff's Office.

Emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures, but Perry died at the scene. 

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Vance County Sheriff's Office with the investigation.

No suspect has been identified.
