Child grazed by bullet after gunfire hits apartment in Durham

A child was grazed by a bullet early Friday morning after gunfire hit an apartment on the east side of Durham.

Durham police said they responded to a shooting call at Rochelle Manor around 12:38 a.m. in the Joyland community.

One apartment building was hit by gunfire.

A boy inside the building was grazed by a bullet. Police said they were treated by EMS at the scene and released.

The WRAL Breaking News Tracker arrived to find heavy police presence with tape and evidence markers in the street. 

No arrests have been made as of 6:00 a.m. Friday.

We are working to learn more about what led to the shooting and if any suspects have been identified.

This is the 15th shooting involving a victim under the age of 18 this year in Durham.
