Car torched in garage fire, Cary Fire investigating

A fire tore through a garage at a home early Thursday morning in Cary. 

Around 2:45 a.m., Cary Fire Department crews got a call for a fire near Holland Bend Drive. They arrived and found flames showing from the exterior part of a home. Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control. 

Investigators determined the fire started in the garage and one vehicle was completely destroyed. 

The family inside the home were alerted by smoke detector alarms and made it out of the residence safely, according to fire officials. It's unclear how many people will be displaced. 

Cary Fire Department is investigating the cause of the incident.
