Weekend best bets: Movie nights, Phish, summer markets

The month of July features festivals, movies in the park, concerts and so much more.

July 13: Nature Stories - This is a free program at the NC Museum of Art. Come dressed for the weather and prepared to take a walk. This event is for kids 7 and younger.  

July 13: Storytime on the Roof - A family-friendly morning featuring books, songs and dancing under the summer sky.

July 16: Queering Our 250th - This lecture at City of Raleigh Museum will take a look at several lesser-known Americans from the Revolutionary era to show that sexuality and gender were being contested at the same time as our war for independence.

July 16-19: Oyster Fest at The Durham Hotel - Four nights of oysters, live music, and a shooter bar running Friday and Saturday.  

July 17-19: Dinosaur Adventure - From dinosaur rides and fossil digs to bounce houses and live dino encounters, this interactive dinosaur experience at the NC State Fairgrounds is one of the most exciting things to do with kids.

July 17-19 - Durham Bulls homestand - Enjoy fireworks Friday and Saturday nights and Kids Run the Bases on Sunday. 

July 18: 11th Annual Blueberry Festival - Berry picking, bluegrass music, cider, wine, food, donuts, slushies and sunshine at Botanist and Barrel in Cedar Grove.  

July 17-19: KX Kid's Consignment Sale - The large consignment sale is at the Jim Graham Building at the NC State Fairgrounds.

July 18: Pop-Up Raleigh Market - Trophy on Maywood has local art, vintage goods, craft beer, food trucks and more.  

July 18: Raleigh Twilight Market - Featuring local vendors, a live DJ, food and drinks from Smoky Hollow!  

July 18: Maker's Market at Fenton - Shop this Cary market from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  

July 14: The Princess Concert - This show at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium pay tribute to songs from Frozen, Wicked, K-Pop Demon Hunters, Moana, The Wizard of Oz, Beauty & The Beast and more.  

July 14-19: The Notebook Musical - Part of the Broadway at DPAC series. Showtimes are Tues-Fri: 7:30 p.m., Sat: 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sun: 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.  

July 16: Train - Drops of Jupiter: 25 years in the Atmosphere - See the show at Coastal Credit Music Park.

July 16: The Marvelous Miss Gender, Starring Bosco - See the drag performer at Fletcher Opera Theater.

July 18: Tangled Vows -  The theatrical experience follows three couples and explores the fragile balance between love, trust, communication, and commitment.
