Reds take East Forsyth alumnus Ethan Norby 122nd overall in MLB Draft

Professional baseball just doubled its number of Norbys from East Forsyth.

Ethan Norby, younger brother of MLB player Connor, was selected 122nd overall in Saturday's fourth round of the 2026 MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds.

Norby, a left-handed pitcher, had a decorated college career at East Carolina.

He ended with 313 strikeouts in his three seasons, fourth-most in ECU history. He ended his junior year with 65 strikeouts in 46 innings.

At East Forsyth, his career ERA was 1.72 with 173 strikeouts in 105 and 2/3 innings pitched, holding batters to a .180 batting average.
