Weekend best bets: Summer festivals, Akon and Paul Simon, markets

The month of July features festivals, movies in the park, concerts and so much more.

July 10: Bands, Bites and Boats at Bond Park - One Friday a month, the Bond Park Boathouse hosts musicians, food trucks, and after-hours boat rentals.

July 11: Raleigh's All-American Summer Festival - Food trucks, carnival games, a kids zone, cutest dog and hot dog eating contests, live music all day, games and more in Raleigh City Plaza.  

July 11: NC Courage v. Washington Spirit -  See the game at WakeMed Soccer Park.

July 11: Bastille Day Celebration - Travel to France without leaving Raleigh. Lafayette Village will have live bands, wine tastings, a French market and more.

July 11: Durham Summer Concerts in the Park - Concerts are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and are free and open to the public.  

July 11: The Market at Raleigh Iron Works - The market runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

July 11: The Glow Market - Local makers & small businesses, live music, food trucks and games at Pour Works. Dogs and families welcome.

July 12: Raleigh Underground Market - Shop the market at Midtown at North Hills.

July 12: Bull City Treasure Hunt - Durham Central Park will have music and over 40+ local vendors.

July 10: Sidecar Social Club, UNC Health Summerfest - See the show at Koka Booth.

July 10: Ne-Yo and Akon - The Nights Like This tour is at Coastal Credit Union Music Park.

July 10: Blackberry Smoke - See the southern rock band at DPAC.

July 11: Paul Simon - See the show at Coastal Credit Union Music Park.

July 11: An Evening with Wilco - The Chicago rock band plays DPAC.

July 11: Gladys Knight - See the “Empress of Soul” at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium.

July 10: Artwalk at Ackland Art Museum - The museum stays open late at UNC from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event is free.  

July 10: Movie Night: Godzilla vs. Mothra - Catch the film at Moore Square in Raleigh.  

July 11: Big Art Bash - Play your way through immersive art installations at Marbles Kids Museum. Prepare for wacky, creative and messy art experiences that are outside of the box.
