Over 96,000 Hyundai vehicles recalled over instrument panel error

Hyundai is recalling more than 96,000 vehicles over a software issue that may cause the instrument panel display to go blank and not show critical safety information, which could increase the chance of a crash.

The recall covers certain Tucson, Tucson Hybrid, and Tucson plug-in hybrids with model years 2025 to 2026.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there have been no confirmed reports of any crashes due to the issue.

Owners will be notified by mail in late August.

The software for the panel display will be updated at the dealer or over-the-air for free.

There have been multiple Hyundai recalls in recent weeks.

In May, Hyundai recalled more than 421,000 vehicles over a software issue that could cause the brakes to unexpectedly activate, increasing the risk of a crash. In April, nearly 300,000 vehicles were recalled over a seatbelt issue.

In March, Hyundai announced it would stop selling 2026 Hyundai Palisade Limited and Calligraphy trims after a child's death related to power seats, according to the manufacturer.
