Dexter Lawrence 7-on-7 held at Wake Forest High School: Photos, highlights, and interviews

WAKE FOREST — On Thursday, eight high school football programs from North Carolina met for the fourth annual Dexter Lawrence 7-on-7 Tournament held at Wake Forest High School

The event is named after Lawrence, a Cougar alum and current Cincinnati Bengals lineman. Lawrence was a three-time Pro Bowler during his time with the New York Giants. He was also a two-time national champion and an All-American during his college career at Clemson from 2016-2018.

Lawrence was in attendance on Thursday. HighSchoolOT got the chance to catch up with the former Cougar.

The teams participating in the tournament were Wake Forest, Jordan, Cardinal Gibbons, Garner, Southern Durham, Southeast Raleigh, Leesville Road, and Middle Creek.

Cardinal Gibbons defeated Garner in the tournament championship game. The night was highlighted by an 8-overtime clash between Wake Forest and Middle Creek in the quarterfinals.
