Motorcyclist killed in crash with Go Triangle bus in Durham off Erwin Road

A motorcyclist was killed Monday night after plowing into a Go Triangle bus in Durham.

The crash was reported around 11:45 p.m. at Erwin Road Coach K Highway (N.C. 751).

According to Durham police, a 2026 Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle was traveling west on Coach K Highway when it struck the right side of a Go Triangle bus.

The motorcyclist, Henry Winch, died at the scene. Police said speed is believed to be a factor.

Scanner traffic suggests the motorcyclist became trapped underneath the bus:

"The call has been upgraded to an extrication response ... based on the passenger being trapped under the bus."

Photos from the WRAL Breaking News Tracker show crews pulling the mangled motorcycle from beneath the middle of the bus. The scene was clear by 4:30 a.m.
