No threat found: Man claimed to have pipe bomb outside Raleigh police substation

Raleigh police said a man told detectives he had a pipe bomb in his vehicle while parked Wednesday in a station parking lot.

However, Raleigh police did not find any hazardous items.

The threat occurred just after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Raleigh police northeast substation on Greens Dairy Road.

Raleigh police determined there was no threat to the public or surrounding businesses. 

Police are expected to release more information on Wednesday.
