One injured in Cary shooting, another in custody, police say

A man was shot Tuesday night in Cary.

According to the Cary Police Department, a man was shot just before 9:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Brickfield Drive in Cary.

He was transported to the hospital for treatment, police said. The extent of his injuries is unknown.

The WRAL Breaking News Tracker was on scene, where you could see several Cary police cars lined up in a neighborhood surrounded by caution tape as police investigated.

One person was taken into custody, police said.

According to police, the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public.
