Dunn police investigating 9-week-old girl's death, ask SBI for assistance

Police officers on Monday said they are investigating an infant's death on Monday in Dunn.

According to the Dunn Police Department, officers are received reports of an unresponsive infant at a home in the 300 block of West Broad Street. Police said the infant was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

While police could not provide additional details at this time, a spokesperson for the State Bureau of Investigation said they are assisting police.

SBI said they could not provide any additional information, but said Dunn police would have more information as it becomes available.
