A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with a deadly shooting in Vance County.

Deputies said the shooting happened around 3:14 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, at a home on Lemay Lane in Henderson. When they arrived, deputies said they found James Boggs, 33, who had been shot. He died on the scene.

After investigating, deputies said the teen was identified as the suspect in the shooting. They were arrested on Thursday. Deputies have not released their name.

Deputies said several other people living in the house were also charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder after they were accused of assisting in the death, including:

  • Jerry Lemay Jr., 35
    • Tyra Wilson, 34
      • Jedarious Lemay, 23
        • Crystal Williams, 35

Deputies said Lemay Jr. and Wilson were taken into custody. Lemay Jr. is being held on a $250,000 secured bond. Wilson is being held on a $256,200 secured bond, which deputies say includes additional outstanding warrants served during her arrest.

Deputies are still searching for Jedarious Lemay and Williams. Anyone with information is asked to call authorities.
