Toyota is recalling more than 43,500 vehicles because their engines could become contaminated by debris.

The recall affects 2024 Toyota Tundra vehicles with a V35A engine, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The recall says that debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the engine and cause a main bearing to fail, which can result in an engine stall and loss of drive power.

A fix is currently under development. Once a repair is available, repairs will be performed free of charge.

Letters will be mailed on July 6 to affected vehicle owners.

Owners may also contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331.

Drivers unsure if their vehicle is included in the recall can search NHTSA.gov using their vehicle identification number (VIN) or license plate numbers.
