Ghirardelli chocolate recalls some powdered drink mixes for salmonella concerns

Ghirardelli Chocolate Company has recalled some powdered beverage mixes because they may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The recall posted Tuesday came after California Dairies, Inc., recalled a milk powder over a concern of potential Salmonella contamination.

The affected products are listed below and on the Food and Drug Administration announcement. Check use by dates and lot numbers here.

These powdered drink mixes are mainly used in restaurants and industrial settings, but some products may have been available to consumers online.

                            Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. No illnesses have been connected to the recalled items.
