Wilson's Gizzards and Livers makes the hungry happy

A convenience store in Wilson sells more than just snacks. There's a full buffet at the front that includes smothered pork chops, spaghetti with cheese, cabbage, collards, corn, yams. And chicken gizzards and chicken livers.

The place has become known as the Gizzards & Livers Store, and it's nearly always packed. Some people stop in every day for lunch, and because there's so much food, they can eat a different meal each time. The food is cooked in the convenience store kitchen, and there's plenty of it.  

The owner immigrated to the U.S. and has owned the store for more than 30 years. He embodies the American dream by putting smiles on people's faces and by making them both happy and hungry when they walk in.
